This is England Analysis

Tänkte om jag kunde få lite hjälp med att toppa min Engelska analys.
Satsar på MVG eftersom jag är så nära att få det i det i helhetsbetyg.

This is England – English analysis

'' This is England '' The story takes place in a house  in London's suburbs the year 1983.

Shaun the main character in the film, is a mature 12 year old boy with a sense of homour. His dad was a serviceman killed in the Falklands war and he's perennially getting picked on for this, and for his horrible flared jeans which make him look, as one bully cruelly puts it, like Keith Chegwin's son. Making his way home after a school day of humiliation. Shaun gets waylaid by some skinheads in a dodgy underpass, but instead of yet more humilation, the gang give him sympathy and understanding. They become Shaun's only friends and with a new shirt and a new haircut, Shaun has new pride and a new identity. It feels good at first but all this  soon fades for Shaun.

The leader of the skinhead gang is Woody and hes fellow members are a woman nicknamed Milky. Smell the punk woman that Shaun got to makeout with. She explains to Shauns mum Cynthia why she's called '' Smell '' and told her that it rhymes with michelle her real name. And then we have Banjo whose a midde ago man that comes from Jamaica but considers himself as an englishman.

The peace is soon destroyed with the highly unwelcome appearance of Combo, a ferocious and sinister skin warrior that just got out of prison. He demands the group join his National Front cell, and turn out for an NF meeting in a tatty pub, addressed by one of the movement's suit-wearing officer class.  Banjo called him a true skinhead.

'' This is england '' This title stands for the old england. And thereby I think '' This was england '' Is a more suitable title for the movie. But if you only think about the movie the title is great. And I dont have any suggestions for other titles.

Shane Meadows   has made a great movie. It is very different to any other movie, you get to laught and at the same time you realise how sad the whole thing is when there are people are racists on this level.

OBS ITS UNDER DEVELOPEMENT BUT FEEL FREE TO COMMENT smile

Re: This is England Analysis

Engelska-forumet.

Re: This is England Analysis

UPDATE: WHAT AM I MISSING FOR AN MVG? tongue

This is England – English analysis

The story takes place in London's suburbs the year 1983. Shaun is the main character in the movie, he is a mature 12 year old boy with a sense of homour. He lives with his mother Cynthia in a small, worn aparatment. His dad was a serviceman killed in the Falklands war and he's perennially getting picked on for this, and for his horrible flared jeans which make him look, as one bully cruelly puts it, like Keith Chegwin's son. Making his way home after a school day of humiliation. Shaun gets waylaid by some skinheads in a dodgy underpass, but instead of yet more humilation, the gang gives him sympathy and understanding. They become Shaun's only friends and with a new shirt and a new haircut, Shaun has new pride and a new identity. It feels good at first but all this soon fades for Shaun.  During Shaun's time in the skinhead gang, he finds love, friendship and community. He got  his first kiss from a tree year older girl called Smell. The more days that pasts he thinks less and less about  the bullies and his dead father.  Shane Meadows wrote and directed the story. He was born when Shaun was in the same part of England. Shaun was ment to reflect himself as a 12 year old boy. This is Meadows 4th film.

The peace is soon destroyed with the highly unwelcome appearance of Combo, a ferocious and sinister skin warrior that just got out of prison. He demands the group join his National Front cell, and turn out for an NF meeting in a tatty pub, addressed by one of the movement's suit-wearing
officer class. He keeps long lectures about English men's superiority and that everything is the immigrants's fault. Some people dislikes this. But Shaun sees Combo a bit like a father because he
is very good at talking and leading. Banjo called Combo a true skinhead. The leader of the skinhead gang is Woody and hes fellow members are a woman nicknamed Milky. And Smell, She explains to Shauns mum Cynthia why she's called '' Smell '' and told her that it rhymes with michelle her real name. And then we have Banjo whose a midde age man that comes from Jamaica but considers himself as an englishman.

I think the title says this is a side of England people dont want to acknowledge
Shane Meadows has made a great movie. It is very different to any other movie, you get to laught and at the same time you realise how sad the whole thing is when there are people like Combo.
The film This is England ends with Shaun emits an English flag given to him by combo. I think the end is both finished and not. It is finished in the way that when he drops the British flag, he does it as a sign that he had enough of the combo and all those racistic wiews. It could infer that he will never again contact anybody in skinhead gang, that this was the end of everything.
However, no one knows for sure. Therefore, no one can say that the end is completely closed. Actually you do not know what will happen to Shaun after he placed the flag. The end seems sad in some way. It's just like Shaun loses everything he has found and is back to how his situation was like before he met the skinhead gang. I still think he leaves the gang with substantially more experience than he had before.  If Combo didn't come back the skinhead gang wouldn't been broken up. All fights and violent situations that occurred in the gang would never have arisen. So pretty much everything is Combos fault. When Combo abuses Milky, a member of the gang everything turns. All opinions Combo knocked into Shaun disappears. He realizes that everything bad in society are not Pakistanis fault, especially not his father's death. The movie ends not long after that so you can say that Shaun's problems did not make them put on the end. It is rather worse. He is certainly very bad conscience for all immigrants, he was bad against. While Shaun is present in the gang is of course  Combo as an extraordinary father to Shaun. After vitnessed the abuse he lost  his confidence in Combo is it's almost like he loses yet another father. I think Shaun had a very, very strong confidence in the Combo. He believed in combos views. When this happens Shain realises Combos views were not very good, he had nothing to believe in anymore. He must been quite "lost" at the end of the film. The message of the film is that you can "believe in something and then realize that what you believed in was wrong. Shaun did really love Combos opinions, but after a number of events occoured he changed his mind about combos views completely. First, he thinks that what the gang does and stands for is only right and then he thinks that it is completely wrong. Since the film is a little half of an autobiography, you can also believe that the very purpose of the film is that the director wants the attention he never got as children. The actual message of the film is perhaps that one should feel sorry for Shaun and the feeling of pity. I think he has succeeded. I thought at least very sorry for Shaun during the movie.

Re: This is England Analysis

Bra skrivet! smile Fortfarande lite småproblem med meningsuppbyggnaden som någon skrev, men annars helt ok!

Genitiv:

Re: This is England Analysis

The other major factor is the fact that change is uncomfortable. Doing what we've learned through training is not easy. What we are currently doing is comfortable to us and easy to stick with because it's what we are used to. Here's the clincher, we stick with it even though we know the better thing we really should be doing.
